This handset was the winner of the 2008 iF Product Design Award. The InteractPad features context specific virtual keys that change to match the current task. The intention of this design is to provide a simple way to navigate through the numerous menus and features that are available on modern mobile phones. The LG KF600's InteractPad helps the user out by illuminating the menu keys that are required for the task at hand. The virtual keys have been designed to be larger and better spaced than physical keys.
Another nice feature of the InteractPad touch screen is multi-sensorial feedback that provides the user with audio, visual and tactile (haptic) cues. The phone provides a sense of reality when the virtual buttons are pressed by making them larger, vibrating slightly and making a clicking sound. This feature is also designed to improve user interface accuracy and make the phone more comfortable.
The LG KF600 provides eight dynamic graphic user interface themes to give the phone a character that matches its owner's personality. When the user chooses a new theme, it will be reflected in the layout of each applications menus and icons as well the wallpaper.

Motorola ROKR E8
The recently released Motorola ROKR E8 should grab anyone's attention who likes to use their mobile phone as a music player. The ROKR E8 is designed for music. It features ModeShift technology that allow a smooth transition from phone to MP3 player to imaging device at the touch of a button. Another main feature of the user interface is the FastScroll navigation wheel which allows for for scrolling through songs, contacts and the image library with the slide of a thumb.
Now is probably a good time to mention that the ROKR E8 is the first phone from Motorola to feature a haptic touch pad, providing a vibrating tactile feedback when the user touches the virtual buttons. Many people would argue that the ROKR E8 earns a few points over the iPhone in this respect. I have already heard of people who are selling their iPhones due to the lack of tactile feel that they are used to from the keypad on their previous phones.
The Motorola ROKR E8 is also compatible with Windows Media Player 11 on the PC, which allows users to easlily transfer music onto the device, simple drag-and-drop organizing of songs, artists, albums, playlists and access to more than 200 online music stores.
Specifications:
- Display: 2.0" QVGA, 240x320, 262k TFT, haptic tactile touch
- Camera: 2.0 megapixel with 8x zoom, multi-shot, video capture and playback
- Audio: 3.5mm stereo headset jack, stereo Bluetooth wireless technology (A2DP)
- Media formats: MIDI, MP3, AAC, AAC+, Enhanced AAC+, WMA, WAV, AMR-NB, Real Audio (RA) v10

- Dimensions: 115x53x10.6mm

Motorola RAZR2 V8 - Enhanced Multimedia features
The Motorola RAZR V8 is the next generation RAZR focused on a thin design and enhanced multimedia experience. As an owner of the older RAZR V3x model, the first thing I noticed about the RAZR V8 was that the external display has been made much larger. After further investigation, I discovered that Motorola have made the external display touch-sensitive with support for music player controls and the ability to read and reply to texts. Once the music player has been started, there is not need to open the phone.
My biggest disappointment with the RAZR2 V8 is that the camera has remained at 2.0 megapixels. This is the same resolution that was provided on the V3X model which is now about two years old.
But what the Motorola RAZR2 V8 lacks with its camera resolution, it makes up for with looks. This is a sleek looking model that features a stainless steel frame, vacuum metal housing, chemically hardened glass and spun metal and chrome.
Specifications:
- External display: 2.0" Touch - QVGA (320 x 240 pixels) and 262k colours
- Internal display: 2.2” QVGA (320 x 240 pixels), 262K colours
- Camera: 2 megapixels with 8x digital zoom
- Music player: Optional stereo micro-USB headset and stereo Bluetooth wireless technology
- Internal Memory: 420MB or 2GB
- External Memory: No
- Video - MPEG4 capture and playback
- Connectivity: Class 2 Bluetooth 2.0 and high speed micro USB 2.0
