Samsung Soul - Stylish 5 Megapixel Slider Phone

The Samsung Soul 5 Megapixel kick slider phone has been announced as Samsungs flagship product for 2008. Soul, an abbreviation of "The Spirit of Ultra", was named to honor the completion of the Ultra Edition series of handsets.

This stylish, slim and lightweight handset has been designed to offer both features and looks for style conscious users.

Offering 5 megapixels, the camera is also equipped with a range of professional photographic functions that include Auto Focus, Wide Dynamic Range (WDR), Face Detection, Image Stabiliser and Image Editor. The Soul also offers a large 2.2" 16M QVGA TFT LCD, ideal for viewing and editing photos.

Fast High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSPDA) internet access at 7.2 Mbps is also offered by the Samsung Soul, idea for sharing images and video taken by the phone. 7.2 Mbps is faster than what is offered by standard 3G networks.

Another standout feature of the Soul is an adaptive touch pad that changes to suit the active application. This feature is marketed as Magic Touch by DaCP. For example, if the phone is in music mode, music specific icons will illuminate on the navigation indicators. And when in camera mode, camera specific icons such as zoom and brightness will illuminate.

The Soul also features a thematic UI that allows users to change the User Interface to match their personal preference. An on handset UCS setup feature is also provided to let users create their own skins for the phone. Customisable display skins with options such as colours, fonts and background images are available.

The Samsung Soul will be available in European markets from April 2008.
